ENOC boosts presence in diesel market with new tanker truck loading system at its Horizon Terminal in Fujairah
ENOC Marketing announced a landmark project that will significantly enhance the efficiency of the company’s diesel marketing operations across the UAE with the commencement of a second tanker-truck loading (TTL) operation at ENOC’s Horizon Oil Terminal in Fujairah.
The start of TTL diesel operations at ENOC’s Fujairah terminal in synergy with the existing operation in Jebel Ali is designed to address distributor and customer demand for diesel efficiently. The required TTL modification work has been successfully completed and loading has commenced on June 2015.
The seamless availability of diesel to key customers and distributors will enable ENOC to meet the requirement for diesel from major clients such as Sharjah Electricity & Water Authority and other distributors across the Northern Emirates.
Zaid Al Qufaidi, Managing Director of ENOC Marketing, said: “Launching an advanced tanker-truck loading system at the Horizon Terminal in Fujairah reflects our commitment to ensure timely and continued service for our customers. They will now be assured of seamless diesel availability, which is important for their mission critical processes.
“The initiative also complements our on-going strategic initiatives to curb the diesel grey market with the goal of ensuring industry safety standards. This is a clear example of how ENOC is drawing on the synergies of its diverse business portfolio for the benefit of our customers.”
Nader Al Fardan, Director – ENOC Industrial Products Marketing said: “The terminal in Fujairah is strategically located to complement our existing services from Jebel Ali. Moreover, the Commencement of new services from Fujairah Terminal is in line with our strategic imperative to support the growing demand in the UAE and to enhance our Customer Value Proposition in delivering value and choice to our customers in the Northern Emirates.”
Over the past few years, ENOC has been taking several concerted measures to curb illicit diesel trade. The introduction of Euro 5 standard ultra-low sulphur ‘green diesel,’ following the directives of Emirates Authority for Standardisation & Metrology (ESMA) to ensure the usage of only high quality diesel was among the first initiatives undertaken by ENOC. Awareness and inspection campaigns were held along with other government entities.
Al Qufaidi added: “With concerted efforts made by ENOC along with other government stakeholders to curb illegal trade of diesel, expanding ENOC’s TTL operations to Fujairah will ensure that high quality diesel is traded legally and also with adherence to environmental safety norms. This will also have a positive impact on the local economy.”
