The expansion will see five large storage tanks being installed for crude oil with completion scheduled for summer of 2016.

The inauguration of the seventh phase was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, dignitaries from various government departments in Fujairah, Saeed Abdullah Khoory, Chief Executive Officer of ENOC, Yusr Sultan, Managing Director, Terminals, ENOC and other senior officials from ENOC.

Vopak Horizon Fujairah Ltd. is one of the world’s largest bunkering centres and is the first independent onshore oil terminal outside the Arabian Gulf. It caters for blending, break-bulk and consolidation of petroleum products.

Saeed Abdullah Khoory said, "The opening of the seventh phase marks another milestone for VHFL. We are thankful to the vision and guidance of Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, in supporting this milestone project. It will contribute to fulfilling the goal of the Fujairah Government to further strengthen the emirate as a global hub for refined products." The Black Pearl project is a cooperation between Vopak Horizon Fujairah and the Port of Fujairah. The expansion phase will see the construction of a VLCC jetty for the world’s largest tankers which will dock in the port.
